Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrative supervision of the Secondary ENL, Bilingual Education, and World Languages Department
  • Scheduling, budgeting, staff development, supervision, evaluation and various other tasks assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Superintendent of Schools
  • Extensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Strong instructional leadership experience required
  • Knowledge and expertise with NYS Standards, Project Based Learning, and Differentiated Instruction
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and writing skills
  • The ability to motivate staff and students to achieve academic excellence
  • Demonstrate proactive, visionary leadership
  • Experience with budget development
  • Comprehensive understanding of various technological resources as instructional tools
  • Possess extensive knowledge of Part 154 Regulations
  • Coordinate enrollment of new ENL students and facilitate appropriate testing and placement
  • Collaborate with building principals and other ENL teachers in developing schedules and complying with the State and Federal requirements for individual student programs
  • Attend training and provide turnkey information with other ENL and general education teachers
  • Coordinate testing requirements; assist with translation and interpretation
  • Design and write curriculum for the ENL, World Languages, and Bilingual programs
  • Conduct observations
  • Collect necessary data and prepare annual State required reports
  • Collaborate with staff on Equity and Inclusivity initiatives as outlined by the Superintendent of Schools
  • Facilitate family-oriented events for our ENL and Bilingual families
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction
Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • NYS Administrative Certification (SDA/SDL)
  • NYS TESOL/LOTE and/or Bilingual Extension certification
  • Prior administrative experience
