Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide push-in whole class social/emotional instruction.
• Communicate information to students, parents, staff, community members; providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information.
• Counsels students, staff, parents/legal guardians for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, resolving conflicts, referral to appropriate professionals and enhancing probability of student success in school.
• Well-versed in crises intervention and de-escalation strategies.
• Knowledge in data collection strategies to support social/emotional wellness and behavioral growth.
• Other assignments as directed by supervisors.

 

 

Job Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:          

• Must possess or be eligible for New York State Certification as a School Social Worker
• Bilingual candidates preferred
