QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Visionary leader who will be able to provide effective instructional leadership to the school community.
  • A leader who is culturally responsive, and has the ability to create a school community that works collaboratively and promotes high expectations for all students.
  • Responsible for the hiring of teachers in collaboration with Academic Directors.
  • Respond and meet with parents to discuss specific concerns.
  • Establish professional development activities for teachers, while setting school standards.
  • Review and implement district policies and school procedures.
  • Responsible for handling all school emergencies and school crisis situations.
  • Responsible for attending conferences to gain knowledge on current educational trends.
  • Full understanding of the special education continuum of services and familiar with special education laws.
  • Knowledge of Part 154 Regulations and strategies/skills that support Multiple Language Learners.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Vast knowledge of interdisciplinary and authentic project-based learning activities.
  • Building level supervisory experience including building a master schedule.
  • Strong knowledge in literacy instruction and social/emotional learning.
  • Well-versed in restorative justice practices.
  • Oversee the performance of teachers by conducting formal and informal observations.
  • Ensures that the district’s mission statement is the driving force for all decision-making.
  • Versed in creating staff development opportunities to enhance teacher practice.
  • Bilingual background helpful.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Superintendent of Schools.
