RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and provide rigorous, engaging instruction addressing NYS curriculum standards.
  • Use culturally and linguistically responsive practices to instruct students of varying cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers and support staff to provide a team-oriented approach.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, strengths and needs.
  • Collect and record data regarding student progress toward established goals.
  • Participate in team meetings to provide pre-referral strategies and interventions to support students in general education settings.
  • Use a variety of interventions to support progress towards goals before considering referral for evaluations.
  • Implement data-driven interventions to address gaps in learning due to COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Demonstrate a reflective mindset towards his/her instructional practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and accommodate students' language proficiency levels.
  • Assess students' academic and language development progress through formal and informal evaluations.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student achievement and well-being.
  • Collaborate closely with the District Department Chair of ENL and Bilingual Programs K-5, teachers, and building administrators to enhance instructional practices and support student success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with teaching methods, language acquisition research, and educational technology.
  • Incorporate cultural materials and perspectives into the curriculum to enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other required documentation.
  • Preparing students for the NYSESLAT
as per PMCT contract

7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. or 7:15 a.m.- 3:15 p.m. and/or 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. or 3:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.


 

$16.83 per hour
